BOTOX® INFORMATION

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a brand name cosmetic medication which has been approved by the Health Canada for the treatment of glabellar lines (lines that form between the brows) on a temporary basis. It is generically known as botulinum toxin. First introduced in 2002 BOTOX® Cosmetic, has a long track record of successfully and safely treating facial wrinkles.

HOW BOTOX® WORKS

South Surrey BOTOX® must be administered by a trained healthcare professional, such as South Surrey’s injectable specialist Dr Miral Hassan When safely and properly injected into the muscles of the face, it works by temporarily hindering nerve impulses to these muscles and thereby limiting their activity. By relaxing the underlying muscles, the overlying skin is given a smoother appearance.

AREAS TREATED BY BOTOX®

BOTOX® is best used in the treatment of wrinkles and lines that are caused by underlying muscle activity. This occurs most commonly in the forehead and brow regions. Crow’s feet (wrinkles on the sides of the eyes) are also often treated with BOTOX®. BOTOX® is not intended for use in all areas of the face.
