Fill out your forms online
We'll send your new-patient forms ahead of time, so you can complete them at home. This saves time when you arrive and helps us get to know you before your visit.
Your exam, scan & X-rays
We'll take digital X-rays and digital scans as needed, then give you a gentle, careful exam. That includes checking your teeth, gums, bite, and an oral cancer screening, so we can understand your overall oral health and catch small problems early, when they're often simpler to treat.
Dr. Hassan explains everything
Using photos from our small camera, Dr. Hassan shows you what she sees in plain language. No pressure and no hard-to-follow terms. Just clear answers to your questions, honest recommendations, and room for you to decide what's right for you.
Your personalized plan
Together we'll create a prevention-first plan around your priorities, comfort, and budget. You decide what happens next, at a pace that feels right for you. Our goal is to help you make informed decisions, never to pressure you into treatment.

What to bring
Bring your insurance or CDCP details and a list of any medications you take. If you have recent X-rays from another office, let us know—we may be able to request them on your behalf, which can help avoid unnecessary duplicate X-rays.

How do I become a new patient at Power Smile Dental Centre?+
Just book a visit online or call us at (604) 541-9790. We'll send your forms to complete at home, then welcome you to our South Surrey office for your first visit. New patients of all ages are welcome, and we're proud to care for families across South Surrey and White Rock.
What should I bring to my first appointment?+
Bring your dental insurance or CDCP details, a list of any medications you take, and any recent X-rays from your previous dentist if you have them. Completing your online forms ahead of time helps your check-in go smoothly, so you can settle in and relax when you arrive.
Do you accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?+

What happens during my first visit?+
We'll take any digital X-rays and digital scans needed, then perform a gentle, comprehensive exam that includes checking your teeth, gums, bite, and an oral cancer screening. Dr. Hassan will review everything with you using close-up camera photos, explain what she sees in plain language, answer your questions, and work with you to create a personalized, prevention-first plan, without pressure.
Will I feel pressured into treatment?+
Never. We'll show you what we see using your own X-rays and close-up photos, walk you through your options in plain language, and let you decide what's right for you. There's no upselling and no pressure — just honest information and a plan that fits your priorities and your budget.
Do you treat children, and at what age should they see a dentist or orthodontist?+
Yes — we love caring for kids and families. We generally suggest a child's first dental visit by around age one, or when their first tooth appears, and a first orthodontic assessment around age seven, while the jaw is still growing and easy to guide. Early visits keep things positive and help us spot small concerns before they grow.
What should I do if I have a dental emergency?+
If you're in pain or have had a dental injury, call us right away at (604) 541-9790 — we keep same-day emergency spots and will do everything we can to see you quickly. You don't need to be an existing patient. You can find first-aid steps and more on our emergency dentist page.
