TRADITIONAL METAL BRACES
The most common type of orthodontic appliance, metal braces are more comfortable today than their predecessors. Made of high-grade stainless steel, they straighten the teeth using metal brackets and archwires. Metal braces come with the option of colored elastics for a unique, colourful smile during treatment.
SELF-LIGATING BRACES
Self-ligating braces are comprised of the same materials as traditional braces but they don’t require elastics – resulting in fewer appointments and less pressure placed on the tooth. They come with traditional metal, ceramic or clear brackets and use a specialized clip to help the archwire guide teeth into place.
CLEAR (CERAMIC) BRACES
Made with clear materials, ceramic braces are less visible than their metal counterparts. They’re primarily used on teenage and adult patients who have cosmetic concerns. Ceramic braces are larger and more brittle than traditional braces, which is why they’re usually used on upper front teeth. They also require more oral hygiene attention.
CLEAR ALIGNERS
Clear aligners are a series of invisible, removable acrylic trays that straighten teeth like braces. They’re invisible and removable, making eating, brushing and flossing much easier. Aligners have no metal, mitigating the risk of mouth abrasions during treatment.
LINGUAL BRACES
Lingual braces are hidden behind the teeth. They’re 100% customizable to the shape of your teeth. Because they’re not visible, lingual braces are an appealing option for athletes, models, actors, musicians and adult professionals.
